Sorry for the long delay of the reply.

I am still maintainig EQ Companion but but I have been pretty busy at work and have not had that much time to concentrate on it. I am still actively playing EQ-II and use EQC myself all the (and have done some improvements the past 6 months as well).

Hopefully I will have time to do another release soon.

How large log files are you talking about? Are you getting error messages or crashes?

I am in the process of releasing the latest version in a week or so. I will look into the Tells-window problem and will make sure it works OK in the new version.

I'm not sure I will be adding a feature to save chats any time soon. This would be pretty easy to do using something like TextPad's 'Mark all' feature in the find-dialog. You cold even record a simple macro that does it all automatically.

This gets asked every once in a while and I thought about it pretty hard when it was asked the first time. I have no plans for releasing the source code. Sorry.

Is this EverQuest or EverQuest II feature?

I am almost certain it does not parse these currently. EQ Companion is mainly concentrating in parsing "damage given", not "damage taken". If there is a message like:

XXXX slashes YYYY for NN points of damage.

EQ Companion does assign NN damage to XXXX as "damage given" and the same amount to YYYY's "damage taken" stats.

If there is just a line like:

You take NN points of damage

where it does not tell who gave the damage, these types of lines are ignored.

The "damage given" is reported with great detail in the fight detail table, but "damage taken" is only one single number in the fighter's title line after the fighter's name.

What does this new 'you are dotted' message look like in the log file?

I will log on my shaman and warrior and see if I can see these new log lines. I suspect I will not be able to find a mob that would cast a DoT on me, though.

Like I said in the previous post, EQC really does not parse 'damage taken' so much and adding it would be quite a bit of work to do. I do not suspect I will be adding this any time soon.

Healing and regen are another matter, though, and I should be able to see the new log lines using my Shaman.

It just occurred to me that maybe that new DoT message also tells the caster's (mob's) name just like the new regen message shows the caster's name.

If his is the case, I could certainly add parsing of it as it would be like any other damage message where there is damage giver, damage taker and damage amount (and possibly spell name).

Do you think you could find an example of this new DoT message and post it here?
